"raining cats and dogs", unfortunately, I don't understand this saying ?! Well, like many nations, so many proverbs, that can not be understood by other nations.
Interesting macro, because actually the leaf is a dry, but the drops are very suggestive, perfectly transparent and of different shapes.
PS: Yeah, now I know what this reminds me! The great river and its tributaries, surrounded by jungle. For example, the Amazon River. And by the way you were ever on Amazon?
"Pogoda pod psem" - Or something like that, I don't know exactly because I do not use this saying ;-)) "The weather under the dog. " Although I think it's silly proverb. Maybe it's because I like dogs.

"It rains cats & dogs" is a British expression, you know.
In Port we say "it's raining 'canivetes'
that means 'little knifes'
what situation do you prefer? ;-)))
and in Polish is...
